How to use the result

1 avoirdupois oz/yd² ≈ 33.90575 g/m². GSM = sample mass in grams ÷ sample area in m². A 10 cm × 10 cm sample has an area of 0.01 m².

The result does not confirm lot quality, conditioning, coating mass or thickness. Use an appropriate sampling method such as ASTM D3776/D3776M where applicable. Conversion factor: NIST.
