Adhesive Film Roll Width Yield Calculator
Every millimetre slit off a roll is adhesive you paid for and throw away, and trim loss adds up over a year of rolls. Enter the width you buy and the width your line runs, and the calculator shows how many lanes you get, how much is cut off, what that trim costs over a year, and the width to order instead.

Widths
Volume and price (optional)
Leave these empty to see the widths only. Trim area needs the roll length; the yearly figures also need rolls per year, and the cost needs the price.
Your Trim
Enter both widths, then press the button.
Enter both widths as numbers above 0 and up to 100,000 mm.
Red part of the bar: the share of each roll you pay for and cut off.
How the Numbers Are Worked Out
- Lanes: when you slit, the roll width divided by the line width, rounded down; when you run one lane, 1. A roll narrower than the line width gives no lane at all.
- Width cut off = roll width − lanes × line width. Share cut off = width cut off ÷ roll width.
- Trim per roll (m²) = width cut off (mm) ÷ 1000 × roll length (m). Trim per year = trim per roll × rolls per year. Trim cost per year = trim per year × price per m².
- Width to order = lanes × line width: the roll that gives the same lanes with nothing cut off.
Widths are rounded to 0.1 mm, the share to 0.1 %, areas and cost to two decimals. The calculator counts only the width slit off the roll. Edge trim cut after bonding, splice waste and start-up waste are not in the figure.
Order the Width Your Line Runs
Width, thickness, release liner construction and grade are all specified per order, so there is no stock width you have to slit down. Send the width from the result together with your roll length and yearly volume, and we quote on it.
The trim figure is one part of the cost of a bond. To see how reject rate changes the price per finished part, use Cost per Good Laminate.
